Blackberry Way

So it’s Monday again…Booo! It’s been a few days since I posted to the blog, and I took a couple of days or so away from SL as I was really tired in real life. But I’m back! I felt like taking a walk today, somewhere relaxing and very easy on the eye. Well I certainly found the right place! Sky Cove at Serenity Gardens was the perfect location to wander along cobbled paths, cross lamp lit bridges, and explore romantic areas – perfect for relaxing with someone special or for spending quiet time alone to contemplate. If you are looking for somewhere picturesque to live, there are also some beautiful homes here available to rent. I did my very best to be respectful of the fact that people do live here, but there is a lot to explore, including an open beach club that looks like it may be worth another visit one night soon. Over all you get a sense of relaxed, luxury living here, and even if you ‘re not a resident, there is plenty to take in and enjoy. I also discovered a blackberry hedge. The blackberries look almost good enough to eat! It did occur to me that it may be slightly the wrong time of year for blackberries, but hey this is SL! We can have ripe and juicy blackberries all year round! My outfit, hair and makeup all seem to have matched for the colours of the blackberries. It wasn’t planned at all, but it made for a nice little photo sesh nonetheless!

Feeling very berry, exploring Sky Cove at Serenity Gardens.

The flamingo dress that I wore today, is of course my win from the ‘guess and WIN’ board at S@BBiA. You may remember in my post from the other day, I was really excited about winning this dress! It comes with a hud too, with two other colour options so you can change it up how you like. A pretty cool win!

Tempted to pick a juicy blackberry!

I decided to team the dress up it up with a cute pair of red ankle boots which I have had for some time, from [ASHBURY] and I think these were a past Christmas gift. They don’t have sizing for my Maitreya feet included, so I had to alpha out my feet, but I think they look great. I have wanted to wear these for ages but just didn’t have the right outfit to put them with until now, so I am really pleased to finally be wearing them! Oh and the necklace was from Hilly Haalan – also a gift. As always, I will list everything I am wearing, at the end of the post, below with highlighted links for each store (in the store name). Thanks for reading and until next time, stay safe and look after one another.

New Year, New Begininngs

New year’s love and wishes to each and everyone of you. 2020 was a very tough year. Let’s hope that as 2021 progresses, and as we continue to do our bit, that things will get better. I have found that positivity and being inspired to be creative has given me energy over the last year, and into this new one too. This has been a driving force for me. Finding something to do that you enjoy, and drawing from inspiration also can be such good therapy when we are feeling low. It can give you such a lift. I have decided that this year, in place of new year’s resolutions (which I never keep!) I am going to focus on the things I like to do, getting inspired, and things that make me healthy in mind, body and soul. I hope that you also focus on things that you enjoy, and that you feel positivity as we move through 2021. Hopefully the blog will also give people a bit of a lift as they read it. Don’t forget to get involved by leaving comments, and you can also follow us to receive notifications of new posts, by clicking our follow button. I really hope so anyway, it would be lovely to have more followers on board for our journey into 2021!

New Year’s Day debris at Oliver’s Tavern, Yeti’s Run Ski Resort.

I decided to take a stroll early on new year’s day. It was very quiet…well, it was the morning after the night before, and I suspect that quite a few people were nursing headaches, after the exuberance of the celebrations the midnight before. I decided to head over to Yeti’s Run Ski Resort, an award winning Sim, where you can enjoy ice bumper cars, snowboarding and shopping, as well as other fun activities. There are also cabins to rent at the resort, and there is currently a magnificent steam train that sits on the tracks by the station. It is well worth a visit, and there are lots of photo opps! One of my other favourite things about the resort is Oliver’s Tavern, a themed Irish pub. I thought I’d get a photo of myself outside Oliver’s Tavern, where there was plenty of evidence of the revelry to be seen from the night before!

Pretty in pink, at Yeti’s Run Ski Resort.

The snow was still falling that morning, and I needed to make sure that I was wrapped up nice and warm. I decided to tog up in my pink wool mix coat that I got a few years ago from S@BBiA. Although it isn’t a ‘new’ item, it really is a timeless classic, and goes so well with the hat I recently got – the toksik Cushy Beret. It is sold as a fatpack with several different colours and patterns to choose from, so you can be sure that you can always match it to whatever you are wearing for optimal cuteness! My hair is one of the free gifts currently available at Pr!tty, and it also comes with colour huds, so you can select your favourite shade. The colours are all gorgeous by the way, and I chose this strawberry blonde-like colour. I hope you like it! All the deets for my complete look are listed at the end of the post in the ‘What I am Wearing’ section, as always. Oh and before I forget, S@BBiA where my coat is from, still have their Christmas group gift on display, plus another additional gift AND a wall full of really lovely past group gifts. There are also lucky letters and a guess and win board, so if you haven’t visited, it’s time to hail that SL taxi cab!

Getting lucky on the Guess and WIN board at S@BBiA!

Talking of gifts, so many creators have generously given over Christmas and new year, both at their stores and at shopping events such as the Sense event, which runs until January 8th. And don’t forget the Shop & Hop Winter Shopping Event, which runs until January 3rd. If you get your winter skates on, you might just be in time to catch it! The Christmas 2020 and new year 2021 gifts and promos have been truly phenomenal. Thank you so much to all the creators who put out these amazing gifts and promos. I have really enjoyed browsing the stores and shopping events in SL. The quality of goods on offer has been exceptional, and demonstrates the wonderfully creative talent that exists across the grid. I really hope you have enjoyed shopping and collecting promos and free gifts as much as I have over recent weeks. I boxed mine up to look like Christmas presents, and I have collected so many, that I will be opening them for weeks to come I think! This post has been rather long, but I had so much to tell you about! And so, until next time, happy new year love and wishes once more, take care and stay safe.

Frosty the Snowman

What better way to enjoy the countdown to Christmas, than taking a bracing walk in the snow! This is what I decided to do today. I took myself over to Winter Park where I added the finishing touches to an adorable snowman, full of cheery character, who I have named ‘Mr Frosty’. I don’t know if that is his real name, but that’s what I’ll be calling him from now on. Winter Park has lots of fun, wintery and festive features including an area for ice skating and lots of little nooks and crannies for photo opportunities. I also discovered some great gacha shopping there, and of course Mr Frosty was waiting for me to straighten out his scarf, so what’s not to love?!

You might remember my promise in my previous post, to tell you what I bought with the gift card that I won in the joke trivia game, in the Paper Sparrow group a couple of weeks ago. Well, I got the white long sleeve crinkle dress, which I wore today for my little snow adventure. As you can see from today’s pics, it actually isn’t completely white, and it has a stylish grey pattern. This makes it perfect for teaming up with the Taylor boots, which were a lucky board win a couple of months or so ago, also from Paper Sparrow. As you can tell, I have spent quite a lot of time there! The Taylor boots come complete with a varied colour hud. I chose this colour which is like a dark metallic grey. I’m really pleased with this outfit, and I think it is very versatile, in that it can be worn casually, whether it’s browsing the shops, or partying with friends, or as work/business wear. I’m not sure the boots were a very practical choice for walking in the snow, but hey, this is SL right? You can wear whatever you want in the SL snow! I decided to take another walk over to Cozy Cove (destination no longer available, sorry,) to see a hint of the Northen lights, and take in the snowy scenery. I felt like like the Snow Queen in my rare white crown which is one of my much treasured gacha items that I own. Cozy Cove really is a magical place full of snowy forest and there are some fully decorated and furnished indoor areas too where you can go and warm up if you get too cold. Again, there are some great opportunities for photos here which would be great in any Christmas photo album!

Enjoying the snowy, magical surroundings at Cozy Cove.

Hello Winter!

Winter is here and there is a distinctive chill in the air. …Brrrr! However, Jack Frost has nothing on me, in my warm and cosy Jesse hoodie and knee high socks from Paper Sparrow. Both these are in the colour option of melon, but if melon isn’t your thing, there are plenty of other gorgeous colours to choose from for both items. The Maitreya version fits my Lara body like a winter dream, as do the knee socks.  Both these are also available for most  other bodies, so the store is almost certain to have your size. I was lucky enough to be able to purchase these with last month’s store credit. This is available each month, for group members, thanks to the generosity of Paper Sparrow store owner, Bunnie Francis. I highly recommend heading over to the store. There is also an extensive sale section, lucky letters boards and an advent Calendar Christmas tree with daily gifts – not to be missed!

Staying in the warm.

I was also very lucky to have won a round of joke trivia, held in group chat by FanDuran who is a CSR at Paper Sparrow. My awesome prize was a gift card to spend in-store, again thanks to the kindness of Bunnie. Thanks Bunnie! I did also pick up a couple of cool items on lucky letters, and I will be be blogging very soon, about these, and also about what I bought with the gift card, so watch this space! Meanwhile, I’m so snuggly and warm, I might just stay at home today.

Until next time, take care and stay safe.

Christmas Lights.
